When I think about Lake Como, I have three people in my mind – Michael Schumacher, Richard Branson and George Clooney. I admire all three gentlemen’s for what they have achieved. They all have something common – they all own villas by Lake Como.
And I also think about James Bond’s Royal Casino. In one of the last scenes Mr. Bond “meets” with Mr. White by Lake Come just before the titles. I guess it was Villa La Gaeta. And yes, I cannot forget the Ocean’s twelve, where Mr. Fox meets with Mr. Ocean.

It is very difficult to name top 10 vacation spots, as there are hundreds of exceptional and unique places on earth. I have selected the ones, which combines attractiveness, beauty and entertainment. Each of them deserves the following expression: if you haven’t been there you haven’t lived.
As a first in my list is Lake Como in Italy. It is located on the Italy-Switzerland border just 25 miles from Milan, which is good for short trips. More important than distance to the airport is sightseeing surrounded by the Alps. There are several small towns located around the lake. The most existing place to visit is Bellagio Town, which sets on a beautiful setting where three bays come together. Lake Como is one of the most beautiful lakes in the world.
Second place of top 10 vacation spots I am giving to Venice in Italy. It is hard to find the place on earth, which could be equaled with Venice. City on the water with unrepeatable heritage definitely is a must visit vacation spot. To stand in St. Marks square, Rialto Bridge, visit The Arsenal or take a Gondola ride is something, which you cannot enjoy anywhere in the world.
TIP: You can easily combine first two vacation spots on the same trip. If you are flying from US, then take an open-jaw flight to Venice or Milan (it depends on the price) and spend first 4-days in Lake Como and 3-days in Venice.
Third spot in my list goes to French Riviera (The Côte d’Azur) – Alpes-Maritimes, Cannas, Nice, Monaco. Start your trip from Nimes by car and you will see the most exciting places in France. I am sure that places like Cannes, Nice and Monaco does not require an introduction. You probably heard about Cannes Movie Festival or Nice Carnival or Monaco with its glamour. They are located in less than 30 miles radius, so with one trip you can see all the famous locations.
Forth in my top 10 vacation spots list goes to Las Vegas, Nevada. It is all about entertainment and fun and with current travel deals it is a shame not to enjoy it. I do not think I need to add something more here.
Fifth spot goes to San Francisco, California. My first association of San Francisco is Golden Gate Bridge, Cable Cars and Alcatraz. Golden Bridge is 1.71 mile long and 746 feet high, and it is one of the main California recognition symbol worldwide. Travelers say: if you haven’t visited Golden Gate Bridge, you haven’t been in San Francisco. The same goes for Cable Cars and Alcatraz. You will find hundreds of attractions in San Francisco, so it is great spot for family vacations.
Sixth place of top 10 vacation spots goes for London, United Kingdom. At least once in a lifetime you have to visit this city. It represents a style and culture, with a great variety of attractions for any taste. British Museum, Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, London Eye, Piccadilly Circus or the London Palladium Theater are just a few of them. London in Europe is like a New York in United States.
Seventh spot goes to Paris, France. The most Romantic City in the World or City of Lights is definitely one of the greatest places to visit. It is hard to find another city with so great landmarks – Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, The Louvre, Arc de Triomphe, Chateau de Versailles, Champs Elysees. Besides, back streets with small cafes, fashion and style makes Paris one of the most attractive destinations on earth.
TIP: You can easily visit both cities – London and Paris, during one trip. It is only 2 hours 15 minutes with Eurostar train from London.
Eight place of top 10 vacation spots go to New York. Within first ten minutes in New York you will realize that there is no other such a place on earth. It holds all the Americans best qualities – the diversity, the culture, the style. After you will visit Empire State Building, Statue of Liberty, Rockefeller Centre, Times Square and Brooklyn Bridge you will be over the moon.
As a ninth in my list I wanted to include some sunny location with very beautiful nature and beaches around. What could be better than Hawaii? This is where you have to travel at least once in a lifetime. There are no other places on earth, which could offer such a variety of activities and sightseeing. Hawaii mainly consists of six islands and each of it offers unique personality and its own activities. The last things what you will want to do is to take a return flight.
Last but not least in my top 10 vacation spots list, I retained for Chicago, Illinois. It is my most favorite city in the world. To see the skyline in the evening and to take a cruise on the Lake Michigan is so awe-inspiring. More than 45 million people visit Chicago each year, and you should be one of them.
