Travel to Europe may become one of the greatest trips ever. With cities like Rome, Venice, Florence, London, Paris, Edinburgh, Nice, Monaco, Vienne, Lucerne and many, many more you can create lifetime memories. My all the time favorite place is Lake Como on Switzerland/Italy’s border. It is something truly exceptional and unforgettable.

In this short blog post, I want to outline the best combinations of cities, if you take a 7 day trip to Europe. Of course you can spend all 7 days in each of my mentioned places, and you will still have a lot of fresh things to discover. However, by precise planning, you can enjoy more in one time.
The first combination is if your primary destination is London. By primary I mean a place which is the first in your travel wish list.
London/Edinburgh/Paris
When you fly to London you need to spend at least 2 full days there. With this much time you will see all the primary locations, museums, and you will be able to enjoy the best attractions. However, I also would recommend taking some of the one day trips from London, for example, trip to Stonehenge, Bath or Cambridge. Then you can take a train to Edinburgh and spend there at least 1 or 2 full days. After Edinburgh, you can take a train back to London and then train to Paris. From Paris, you can take a flight back home.
Rome/Florence/Venice
If you would like to enjoy Italy, you can take a flight to Rome with return flight from Venice. After arrival in Rome, I suggest to spend at least 2 full days there and then take a train to Florence. Spend 2 full days in Florence and definitely take a trip to see Tuscany. After spending time in Florence take a train to Venice and then flight back home.
Paris/Nimes/Nice/Monaco
Take a flight to Paris with return flight from Nice. I recommend to spend at least 2 full days in Paris and also take some of the one day trips from there. If you like wine I would recommend to take a trip to Champagne region – Reims. After spending time there, you can take a train to Nimes. Spend 1 full day there and then rent a car and drive all the way to Nice and Monaco. I promise, this will be one of the greatest drives you have ever had. After spending time in Nice, Cannes and Monaco, take a flight back home.
These are just a couple of combinations you can choose from. You can create your own trip by using my free customized planning form.
